Shell not Paying Igbo Speaking Community, Igbo Speaking Community Receives No Compensation from Shell BP  and Attitude of Shell to Igbo Host Community

In places like Itsekiri, Sapele, Warri, Ijaw, Shell normally pays compensation of what they call -RIGHT OF WAY (ROW) for laying of oil pipelines, annually. Such payments are not made to Igbo People. And for oil spillages, no Igbo speaking community receives any compensation, e.g. The spillage at Isimiri Location of 15 & 16 June 1999 which affected the whole of Ukwa up to Akwete has not be compensated till date. No community development, No road construction, Gas flaring has been going on in this areas since early Sixties.

• Seismic Operation was carried out, in Egbu, Emekuku, Ogbaku, Naze, Ikeduru, Ihiagwa near Owerri by (OML) Chevron. An oil mining Licence was issued to them by the federal government in 2000.

The federal University of Tech. Owerri "FUTO" (Ihiagwa) could be relocated to   because ofSedsmic Operations currently going on there.

NOTE, Some of the Wellheads, (Oil Wells) at Umuokwor seem to have been abandoned but crude still leaks from them thereby destroying farmlands.

• Isimiri has a flow station with gas flaring going on.

•  Owaza has two flow stations and one gas plant with over 30 Well Heads.

• Seismic Operations, (oil speculations are currently going on in about two local governments in Ngwa-land near Aba.

Bonny an Igbo speaking Island in Rivers State is where the multi-million   naira Nigeria's LNG is located.
